On Sunday, August 6, join us for a relaxing ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad through the quiet countryside on your way to small town life in western North Carolina. While on the train, you'll travel along the Tuckasegee River through old railroad towns and scenic meadows offering great views of the Smoky Mountains.  The route also includes the historic Cowee Tunnel and a glimpse into the famous train wreck set of the movie, The Fugitive starring Harrison Ford!
This 1.5 hour train ride will take you and your bike to the Town of Dillsboro where you'll have the choice of three great routes to get you back to Bryson City.  You'll have the option to ride the 17 mile route, the 26 mile route or the 52 mile route, which includes the community of Cherokee, the Museum of the Cherokee Indian and the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Additional routes will be offered that do not require a train ticket.
The Mountain Ride "Trains and Chains" option is limited to the first 100 people.  Cost of the train option is just $10 (retail value of $51) and includes breakfast on the train, transport of your bicycle on the train, and an experience you'll never forget.  The "Trains and Chains" option is only available to registered Mountain Ride participants (riders and non-riders).  Non-riders ticket includes a round trip ticket back to Bryson City.   All train ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
